INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The 2018 campaign continues for the UNCW men’s soccer team as the Seahawks were among the 48 teams selected for the NCAA Division I Championship field.
UNCW, which will be making its fourth all-time appearance in the tournament, earned a first round home game against Furman at UNCW Soccer Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m.
Tickets, which cost $8 for adults and $3 for UNCW students and youth ages 12 and under, are available by calling the UNCW Athletics Ticket Office at 800-808-UNCW or by visiting UNCWSports.com/BuyTickets. In addition, tickets can be purchased on game day at the UNCW Soccer Stadium box office beginning one hour prior to the start of the game.
The Seahawks, 12-5-2 on the season, received their third at-large entry in the last five years after reaching the Colonial Athletic Association semifinals. UNCW finished the regular season with a 5-1-2 record in league play for a second-place finish.
Furman, the Southern Conference champion, earned its automatic berth into the field after defeating UNCG, 3-0, in the title game on Sunday. The Paladins will begin the NCAA Tournament with a 13-6-1 record.
The winner of Thursday’s UNCW-Furman game advances to the second round on Sunday and will face Virginia, which earned the No. 10 national seed.
