WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Tom Wade has been elevated to associate director of the UNCW Student Aid Association (Seahawk Club).
“Tom is truly an asset to UNCW Athletics and the Seahawk Club and we’re excited to see him continue to grow in this new role,” said Adam Fearing, executive director of the Seahawk Club. “He has consistently built fruitful relationships with our supporters. He’s an alumnus who is extremely passionate about UNCW and the future success of our programs.”
A native of Roxboro, N.C., Wade began his association with UNCW Athletics as an assistant in the ticket office in 2013 before being named development coordinator with the Seahawk Club in June of 2014. He was promoted to assistant director in 2017.
Wade will serve as a lead fundraiser, focusing on leadership annual giving as well as major gifts for athletics. He will also assist with the Seahawk Club’s annual fund efforts.
“I’m very excited to continue to serve UNCW Athletics in my new role,” said Wade. “UNCW and Wilmington are very special places to me. I look forward to working with Adam, all of our coaches and the administration to help provide a memorable collegiate experience for every student-athlete.”
Wade earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from UNCW in 2011 and accepted an internship with IMG College’s Ticket Sales & Services. During the internship, Wade assisted a sales team in promoting football and women’s basketball season tickets at Duke.
In December of 2011, Wade joined the Athletic Facilities and Operations Department at Duke, where he was in charge of all game day operation needs for the Field Hockey team. He also assisted with all game day needs for men’s basketball, women’s basketball, football, baseball, men’s tennis, and women’s tennis.
Wade completed his Master’s Degree in Sports Leadership at Northeastern in 2016.
