Another sign of recovery from Hurricane Florence – the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course is now reopened. The devastation from the storm was substantial with 87 trees down or damaged. In addition, there was a significant amount of storm debris littered throughout the course.
Crews worked hard to restore the course to its original condition. Debris has been cleared from fairways, greens, around the greens and much of the rough, however tree debris removal is still ongoing. For the safety of workers, some tees will be moved forward on holes while work is underway. Golfers must play from the marked tees and are asked not to search for a lost ball in debris piles.
