Wilmington City Council meeting, Feb. 6
Items of interest include:
- An agreement with Hagerty Consulting, Inc. for Comprehensive Disaster Recovery Management Services, should they be needed in the event of a major disaster. The purpose of this agreement is to ensure that the city is prepared to respond to extreme emergencies that exceed the capability of city staff. The contract is for three years and may be renewed for up to two additional years.
- A resolution supporting streetscape improvements on Market Street between the railroad tracks and Station Road as part of the NC DOT’s Market Street median project. The city has budgeted $1.55 million to partner with the NC DOT toward the aesthetic improvements, such as landscaping and adding sidewalks to fill gaps. The NC DOT project is expected to begin in 2020. This item was continued from the Jan. 9 council meeting.
